Grand Knight

Worthy Knights and Ladies - Welcome to 2016 Our first meeting of the year is done and we had some good items completed. So far our first fund raiser for the year is doing well, we had a great turn out to help with the Tootsie Roll Drive and looks like we will have a very nice donation for the Special Olympics.

We have the Fish Fry coming up in a few weeks, I have already sent out volunteer requests and hope we will have more help than last year. We may have some youths to help with the cleanup for their community service credits. I am still hoping that members turn out also, each Friday evening. Many of our members attended the trip to The Holy Land Experience along with their wives and children. I could not go due to a prior commitment. I was told that ten of our Knights went. The photos are already on our web site, so take a look how beautiful it was.

The Basketball Free Throw I am told was great again. This year our Youth Co-Chairs David and Chris did a great job working with Don. Sorry again that I could not go as I had to be at the Mid-Year Grand Knights Meeting. (Wish I had two of me so I could be in two places at once LOL) Don told me we had only 4 entrees so, all have on move on to the next step in winning regionals. It was a very cold morning so I am hoping that is why turnout was low.

I would like to share this with all of you... I read it a few weeks ago. If you are not sure how to pray or even what to pray for, try this advice from Jesus. "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." Focusing on God sharpens our understanding of what my true need is. "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Let go and let God bring divine order into our lives. "Give us this day our daily bread." God blesses us with enough. We only have to ask and God will provide. "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Just as God forgives us, we forgive others. We release grudges and trust God to clear up misunderstandings. Most important of all, forgive ourselves. We should be grateful to God for all our blessings. God Bless You All!!! Vivat Jesus, Larry Fusco

Jubilee Year of MercyPope Francis leads us to this extraordinary call for mercy. This sacred virtue of the mercy of God renders a significant sign of the presence and intimate oneness of God to His people. We need to contemplate this Divine Mercy of God in order for us to overcome all human limitations, in order to become true witnesses of the Gospel.

May the Mercy of God be the center of our personal life and that of our communities.

As we likewise close the international Eucharistic Convention in thePhilippines, may the fruits of our faith enkindle our hearts with God’s Love.

Religiously Devoted, Patriotically ProudFor most men who follow Jesus, there comes a time when duty extends beyond our own lives, beyond how we lead ourfamilies, and into how we serve our fellow man. That's what the Knights of Columbus is all about. The Patriotic Degree allows K of C members to take this one step further. "Sir Knight" is more than a title — it’s an honor.
