Christmas is often described as a celebration of the moment when Jesus brought his light into the world. And then, by the example of his life, he demonstrated how we, as Christians, followers of Christ, could take that light, make it our own and share it with others. As ever, the months of Autumn brought all kinds of turbulence in our world. The truly horrific acts of violence and terror in Syria and in Paris have served as a reminder to all of us about how important it is for all in our community to really live out our own Christian values in everything we do. When we see such a turbulent world we should realize that we are left with a choice. Do we want to make the world a better place or not? If the answer is yes - how will we do that? If the answer is yes - you are someone that Jesus has shared his light with. Phyllis and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope your lights burn brightly and that the message of Christmas takes center stage in all of our lives as we welcome in another New Year.
