Grand Knight Message Oct 2017

The second principle of the Knights of Columbus is Unity. Not one of us is as good as all of us together. Members of the Knights of Columbus all know that-together- we can accomplish far more than any of us individually. So we stick together… We support one another. That doesn’t mean that we always agree or that there is never a difference of opinion. It does mean that, as a Knight of Columbus, you can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your council, parish, and community. October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. The origin of the Rosary dates back several hundred years with many real accounts of its healing and virtuous power. Since the prayers of the Rosary come from such excellent sources- from our Lord Himself, from inspired Scriptures, and from the church- it is not surprising that the Rosary is so dear to our Blessed Mother and so powerful with Heaven. If we consider the power of the Rosary as seen in its effects, we find a great abundance of proofs of its wonderful value. Say the Rosary every day for yourself and others, and experience the true meaning of the power of the Rosary. We are having a Membership Drive Chaired by Ron Ciampi at all Masses October 14th and 15th with Coffee and Donuts served from 7:30 to 10:30 am on Sunday October 15th. Everybody’s help is greatly appreciated. Council 8012 is sponsoring a Food Drive for St. Theresa’s Food Pantry again this year. Please bring a non-perishable canned or boxed food item to our Membership Drive. Join us in the Sponsorship of the Women’s Pregnancy Center’s Annual Walk 4 Life on November 4th, 2017 at 8am in Ocala at the Tuscawilla Park. As in the past we should have a great time. You can still sponsor a walker even if you do not walk. But walking on a beautiful crisp November morning with Father David and hundreds of others is breathtaking. Vivat Jesus! Fraternally yours, Don LaClair, Grand Knight
