Chaplain Report Oct 2017

Called to Follow A Galilean, regardless of way of life, circumstances, or sinful past was invited by a fellow Galilean to follow Him. Immediately he left everything, his profession, his lifestyle, rose and followed Him. This true to life story proclaimed in Gospels is the life of St Mathew, publican, tax collector, and now evangelist. This vocation emphasizes an important point not just in the life of Matthew and the appointed apostles of Jesus, but foremost important above all to God’s Plan of Redemption. For several weeks, our evangelist talks about “forgiveness”, as the core of Jesus call for discipleship. In the words of Prophet Isaiah: “Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near. Let the scoundrel forsake his way, and the wicked his thoughts; let him turn to the LORD for mercy; to our God, who is generous in forgiving. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts.” Called to fulfill our mission in the brotherhood of the Knights Columbus, let us humbly implore God’s Mercy of Us and to our fellowmen.
