Dec 2017 Grand Knight Message

The season of Advent is once again upon us as we prepare for the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. As Catholics, we must remember the Christ child who came to take away the sins of the world. The world gets so wrapped up in the over commercialized holiday that they forget the true reason for the season; which is to keep Christ in Christmas. Just think, you can’t have Christmas without having Christ in it. For those Brothers who helped make the Veterans Breakfast on the 12th of November a success, thank you. Brother Bob Lanctot would have been proud of us. Sacred Heart Council 8012 Basketball Free Throw will be January 21, 2018 at 1:00PM at the First Baptist Church in Summerfield. Help is needed from our Brother Knights to make this youth program a success. Also, help is needed for the annual Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Gallery December 16th and 17th with coffee and donuts served on Sunday. Food for Families program is asking for your help in bringing nonperishable canned good at all Masses on the 16th and 17th. Congratulations goes out to Brothers Ron Adams, Greg Sutter, Jack Nettis, Gary Cloutier, James Lasichak, and Stanley Bonett for attending the 3rd degree ceremony on November 18 as well as Peter Hirst for transferring to Council 8012. Brother Knights please participate in the following programs: Coats for Kids, Fish Fry, Tootsie Roll, Parade, Annual Survey, 5th Sunday Rosary, and the Script Card programs I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a most Blessed and safe New Year!
